On 12 December, the Occitanie Region and the SGPSO organised a day of exchanges with a delegation led by the Atlantic Corridor coordinator for Spain, José Antonio Sebastian Ruiz.
After a presentation of the latest news on the New South-West Line in France and the Y-Basque in Spain, the partners were able to discuss the countries' HSL policies, infrastructure financing, the opening up of passenger rail services to competition, cross-border traffic forecasts, the mobilisation of construction companies, the common interests of France and Spain in Europe, and the construction of a cross-border cooperation initiative around the Pyrenees with the HSLs to the east and west of the chain.
The partners were then welcomed by SNCF Réseau to observe work in progress on the strategic site of the Chemin du Moulin road bridge at Lespinasse.
The next round of discussions is scheduled to take place in Spain this winter, in order to deepen the congruence between our cross-border projects linking the south and north of Europe, as well as the Atlantic and the Mediterranean.
