Survey

The New South-Western Line receives rave reviews!

95% of Spaniards approve.

The best we can say is that the New South-West (Rail) Line (LNSO) is eagerly awaited on both sides of the Pyrenees: the LNSO is approved by nearly 8 out of 10 French people and more than 9 out of 10 Spaniards!

These are the unsurprising results of a survey carried out between 19 and 24 March among a sample of 1,005 French and 1,005 Spanish people representative of the populations of the 2 countries. ODOXA/SNCF Réseau/SGPSO poll.

For a clear majority of both French and Spanish people, this project will be both :

Positive for the environment because it will make it possible to limit journeys by car (74% of the French and 88% of the Spanish) and by plane (83% and 94%) in favour of those by train, and will avoid the flow of lorries on the roads (60% and 65%).

Will have a major economic impact by promoting trade between France and Spain (80% and 92%), improving access to employment for local people (75% and 89%) and attracting businesses to these regions (76% and 90%).

Finally, both the French (79%) and the Spanish (95%) are convinced that this new high-speed line will help to better connect Europe, from North to South and from West to East.
